What is Wealthy Affiliate About, Does It Work?

You may have seen advertising for Wealthy Affiliate. You may ask “what is Wealthy Affiliate about and does it work in 2022?”

Have you ever wondered what it might be like to run your own business and not have to depend on an employer to pay you a measly wage for your precious time just for your next paycheck?

Are you willing to put in some consistent work that will pay off in the future and for years to come? In this review, I’ll be talking about all of the features of Wealthy Affiliate and its educational modules.

What is Wealthy Affiliate?

Wealthy Affiliate isn’t what most people think it is. It’s a fully comprehensive educational launchpad for beginner bloggers who have the ability to write fresh content on their schedule. As with any crucial educational platform, there is a fee.

Of course, when you sign up there’s a 7-day trial where you can test out a nominal portion of the premium site. This gives you more than enough time to see exactly what they have to offer.

By the way, if you are already a successful blogger, that’s awesome, but you most likely don’t need this educational platform. It offers more than just tutorials on how to start a website and start professionally blogging, anyone with a few years of experience probably has most of the knowledge available, and probably more.

That’s not saying this site is useless because it’s far from that. As a total novice, I learned how to create a website and create content-rich articles that are relevant to a promoted product or service with the intent to help someone solve a problem.

45 days ago my knowledge of how to use the internet was limited to finding videos to watch and using BPM and Key finders for beats. I started out not knowing anything more than that or how to save an image by right-clicking and a few other useful techniques for editing videos.

There are several methods of training available depending on the focus of your niche. The community is urged to be helpful and users are even ranked by how active they are. You get graded for helping others, creating posts, creating tutorials, and sharing experiences. So, to me, the culture of the community is very helpful. Especially to a complete beginner such as myself.

What are some Cons of Wealthy Affiliate?

  • Some of the training is a little out-of-date, but that’s mostly because websites and software evolve so quickly. How do I remedy this? I just YouTube the most current way to do it and boom, fixed.

I’ve seen a lot of complaints about that but a lot of them don’t realize if you search on site, there is a great likelihood that someone already addressed it and made a tutorial or multiple updates that fix the issue.

  • “There’s so much stuff. Where do I start?” This is totally understandable but if you just follow the queues when prompted, they literally walk you through what to do.

If you already have web design experience but not much writing under your belt it may be better to follow one set of training over the other. Whereas anyone who lacks experience with both should start t training level 1-1, and not skip a step.

  • It’s hard to keep up with more advanced users who have many more years of experience than you. So, it feels like you’re spinning your wheels.

If you continue posting that means you are writing which will get better over time. Your grammar, spelling, wordplay, and storytelling will improve as long as you stay in practice. It also means that you are giving search engines reason to index and rank your content.

When can I make money using Wealthy Affiliate?

This platform is a launchpad for training you to be an interesting blogger first. It doesn’t matter what you’re trying to sell if someone can’t relate to why it’s useful to them or why they can’t live without it.

Obviously, if that’s what they came for, that’s good. However, the most common scenario is just someone looking into something with no intent to purchase, but what about the few times they do?

You want to be the one to make the offer and be compensated for taking the time to research and write an article, but that takes some time if you’re not willing or able to pay a bunch of money upfront.

The average consistent blogger can make a decent living writing a few articles a week and spend most of their time promoting the site itself. With computers, the internet, and social media to connect us all, there are virtually limitless possibilities of how you can do it.

You can use your blog as a script for YouTube videos or just post the link attached to a relevant story post on FaceBook. You can Tweet it out to your followers or potentially any other site. Imagine how many of the people who follow you are interested in the things you already bring to them and how they might already be chomping at the bit for a product or service you suggest to them.

Who gets the most benefits from Wealthy Affiliate?

As I said earlier, a novice may not feel right at home at first because the internet can be overwhelming if you’re not too familiar with it. It can be downright tough for anyone not already in the know.

That being said, anyone who doesn’t already run a blog could definitely glean some good information from the site. I like to think of myself as very computer savvy, but when it comes to being online, I was a late starter. Granted I’m probably a little older than your average, I didn’t have a lot of use for the internet other than watching tutorials or finding beat packs. Stuff like that.

I didn’t realize I was avoiding learning about how it can be utilized o make money. I didn’t think anyone without a degree in web development could even do it. I was way wrong. I hadn’t looked into starting a site because I’ve always heard it was so costly to even start a site but i’s actually only about $15 a year.

I’m sure you’ve at least heard of WordPress. It’s one of the premier website creation tools available. Sure, there are plenty of others and a few may be better in some ways. Still, with all the knowledge available for you to learn at your own pace.

There are a few things I don’t fully agree with that are in the training, but for the most part, it is quite useful. Especially for the noob, such as myself when I started. With a month I basically understood the entire process and could probably teach you step-by-step how to do it. Many people on the platform actually do that.

There are so many options I’m likely to forget at least one of them but I can’t fail to mention the user interface and user experience. This is definitely built for anyone who needs reassurance and repetition.

Where do I find affiliate links on Wealthy Affiliate?

The great thing about Wealthy Affiliate is that it’s a hub for educating you on how to do everything necessary to t take full advantage of creating a passive income by writing blogs. Well, an important step, if not the most important is monetization.

So, adding affiliate links to your site is one way you can do that. It doesn’t take very long, it’s normally fairly easy to find one and sign up for it, and there are so many to choose from that you will always have options to write about for your audience to consume.

Anyway, you can easily search for and join just about any online affiliate program for links, or use their integrated affiliate link host. The “Affiliate Program Search” is built right in and is great for getting ideas for, or using them as a source.

Some are even great to actually look into and join if it’s applicable to your line of work, or pleasure. Depending on your niche, there will be many affiliate programs available for your target market.

Why didn’t I start blogging sooner?

I was always under the impression that bloggers were just talking about their day-to-day activities. Wow! I was far off on that one. I had no idea you could tell stories, educate, review or compare products, and more.

I thought the only way to make money by owning a website was by selling ad space or actually selling off the site after it becomes successful. Again, I was totally ignorant. Had I not been so stubborn and looked into it sooner, I’d have been far ahead of where I’m at now, but hey, at least I started, right?

How could I have known affiliate marketing could be so simple? Well, I could have looked into it. I’m kind of kicking myself. Some people may not be quite as savvy with a computer as I am, as a coder, but even if I weren’t, I think the training would have been a little tougher to navigate but overall I could have gotten through the process of starting a site and adding content to it.

Setting up affiliate links is just as easy as any other copy and paste operation. Manipulating most of the widgets, menus, pages, and posts are easily edited through WordPress and its back end.

Is Wealthy Affiliate for established bloggers?

In short, not at all. I mean they could always use the integrated consolidated affiliate links search engine, but that’s unnecessary. Unless they are not currently making an income, it would probably just be wasting time.

However, it could be the boost they need. Whether it be the motivational push from the community or the clarity that comes when you see the final product right before your eyes.

Established bloggers have at least a hundred or more articles written and producing income. A lot of them have a few hundred, or thousands, or tens of thousands of articles. That’s what you will be taught throughout the courses they offer as training.

Instant success isn’t the objective here.

Consistency is key. As long as you are posting on a consistent schedule, they will add up and pay off. Like the difference of casting one pole as opposed to as many as you can fit on the bank. Who’s got the best chance at catching something now?

This isn’t a get-rich scheme. It’s a get paid more and more over time until you can eventually stop worrying about bills anymore. It’s an opportunity to take advantage of your free time and someday walk away from your job.

Most of the mentors on Wealthy Affiliate have the same basic story. They were fed up with their current job so they toiled away. Utilizing the half-hour a day they had free and look at them now. A lot of them are making their own dreams come true.

Why I Recommend Wealthy Affiliate to new bloggers.

As if I haven’t already said it repeatedly throughout this article, it’s made for anyone ready to take the first step toward financial independence and cutting the chain from the daily drudgery.

Granted, training sessions will take hours out of your week, but in a few weeks you’ll notice how much quicker your research is finished and you’re almost finished writing a two-thousand-word plus article.

When I started about 6 weeks ago I thought five hundred words seemed impossible. Then I went through the first module of training. It taught me how to focus my effort and format an easily digestible read, and will do the same for you.

  1. Wow, I loved the take on the cons. Thank you for being honest and being a kind of truth-seeker in all that Wealthy Affiliate is. I loved how you offered ways to turn cons into pros or just kind of neutralize them. I think that’s really thoughtful. And helpful as well. πŸ™‚

I loved your take on why you didn’t immerse yourself into blogging sooner. I think that many people could relate to you. Personally, I could. I too used to think that making money online is only about selling ad space. But it’s not. It’s so much more.

Yeah, I love you’re message. I mean, understanding that it’s not all going to be instant is so key. It’s exactly that. It’s all about consistency. That’s how you get results. You just ship at it one piece of content at a time. This is not a get-rich-quick thing. And I absolutely love the fact that you’re stressing that. Bacause with this, we’re playing the long game. πŸ™‚

Have a great one and cheers. πŸ™‚
